Karhumuovi’s Operations Moved to the Rauma Factory
All Karhumuovi’s machines have been installed at the Rauma factory, and production is now running more efficiently than ever.
On December 23, 2024, Muottituote Group acquired the injection molding business of Karhumuovi, which began operations in 1952. With this acquisition, Muottituote gained a suitable set of machinery, additional skilled staff, and a significant new customer—Kajak Sport, with whom Karhumuovi merged in 2017.
“With five newer injection molding machines and additional staff, we increased our capacity to meet both current and future needs. We also gained several interesting new clients and projects, expanding our customer portfolio,” says Tero Vanninen, CEO of Muottituote Group.
“This acquisition enables us to serve our customers more comprehensively. For example, we now have more extensive post-processing capabilities, such as pad printing—transferred from Pori to Rauma—capable of delivering photo-precise print quality even on uneven surfaces.”
Karhumuovi’s operations were transferred from Pori to Rauma during spring 2025, with the final equipment installed in May. The personnel joined Muottituote under their previous employment terms.
“By optimizing the space, we managed to fit the machines into our Rauma factory. But the next phase will involve moving walls, and we already have preliminary plans for that—so we’re ready to meet growing demand quickly,” says Vanninen.
