Growth through investments in three factories

Muottituote Group Oy has completed a record-breaking financial year with a turnover of €11.6 million and is now setting its sights firmly on future growth. The family-owned company is investing in the production and facilities of its factories located in Rauma, Joensuu, and Korpilahti, following the principles of sustainable development.

As Muottituote Group Oy continues its journey to become the leading manufacturer in the Nordic region in the fields of injection molding and mold manufacturing, the company is experiencing a period of strong growth. Its goals are clear, and investments are being made to expand operations and provide customers with even more comprehensive services from a single partner.

The Rauma-based family business, operating for over 50 years, expanded into Joensuu in 2010 and into Korpilahti in 2024 through business acquisitions. In December 2024, the company acquired the injection molding business of Karhumuovi Oy, based in Pori, which has now been integrated into the Rauma factory.

“We grew by just under 30% in the previous financial year and are currently on the same trajectory. Growth has continued according to our plans, and we are seeing strong development in all three of our factories. With this in mind, we have made a range of investments and development initiatives,” says Tero Vanninen, CEO of Muottituote Group Oy.

The Korpilahti factory has been part of Muottituote Group Oy since early 2024.

One of the company’s key strengths—renowned for its quality—is the ability to serve customers’ needs for both injection molding and molds. The specialized expertise across the three factories enables tailored solutions that meet each client’s individual needs in terms of technology and cost structure.

“We’re also seeing more and more production returning from Asia to Finland. This is reflected in our revenue: in the first eight months of this year, we achieved the same turnover as we did in the entire previous year.”

All Karhumuovi’s machines have been installed at the Rauma factory, and production is now running more efficiently than ever.

A sustainable foundation for the future

Sustainable development is an integral part of Muottituote Group’s daily operations, clearly visible in the investments made. Karhumuovi’s operations were relocated to Rauma in spring 2025, the machinery and facilities in Korpilahti were updated, and capacity was increased in Joensuu through a 600-square-meter expansion.

As part of the changes, LED lighting was installed and electric vehicle charging stations were added to the parking areas in Joensuu and Rauma. Similar stations are planned for Korpilahti, where energy-efficient heat pumps have also reduced electricity consumption.

At the Joensuu factory, an approximately 600-square-meter expansion was built adjacent to the existing facilities.

“In Joensuu, we optimized and modernized the ventilation system with the new hall space. Each of our factory yards will have batteries to store electricity capacity for our use and for contributing to the power company’s reserve,” says Vanninen.

“Sustainable development is a continuous process, and we are constantly advancing it. Our customers have specific sustainability goals, and we align our operations accordingly. In addition, we have our own internal goals related to energy use and recycling.”

The Korpilahti factory has recently undergone updates to both its equipment and office spaces.

The future is viewed with confidence. As mentioned, strong growth is expected to continue in the current fiscal year.

“There’s a growing trend of buying from closer suppliers and consolidating services under one roof. This supports our strategy, which is to grow sensibly and profitably—both organically and inorganically—when the right opportunities arise. Our goal is to break the €20 million turnover threshold within three years,” Vanninen states.

The expansion at the Joensuu factory created space for five new injection molding machines and additional storage.
